Stokes’ Early Bird program is the proud recipient of a
2012 Superstars in Education Award. Our Early Bird
program is designed to help students in need of
additional academic support by delivering small group
accelerated instruction during the first twenty-five
minutes of the school day. Superstars in Education is
a statewide program awarding schools that go above and
beyond in delivering quality instruction to Delaware’s
students. It is a great honor for Stokes’ Early Bird
program to be a winner of this award. |

N. H. Stokes Elementary School Mission Statement
At
Nellie Hughes Stokes Elementary School it is our intention to
create an atmosphere where:
-
Students
are provided with a nurturing, safe and structured learning
environment in which they are valued to take ownership of
their learning. In addition to academics, we build
character, foster creativity and encourage social skills
that will last a lifetime.
-
Faculty
members are part of a supportive, professional and
respectful community where contributions are encouraged and
valued. As lifelong learners, our faculty aspires to be
positive role models on behalf of all educators.
-
Parents
support student success through open communication and
involvement in their child’s education. By reinforcing good
work and social habits, our parents share in student
accountability.
-
Community
members work in a partnership with the school in order to
share valuable resources to enhance school wide initiatives.
